We offer high quality medicine, with emphasis on preventative care as well as treatment for illness and injury. Our convenient office hours are coupled with a veterinarian on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.
Veterinary Associates Animal Hospital is a fully equipped surgical and medical facility. Our hospital is equipped with cutting edge technology to assist in your animal’s diagnosis and treatment. We utilize state of the art monitoring equipment to ensure your pet has the safest anesthetic experience possible, diagnostic digital radiographs and ultrasound, and in-house laboratory capabilities. We also offer complete dental care, including dental x-rays.

Acupuncture:
Both Dr. Brett Ellis and Dr. Jon Ellis are certified with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Dr. Brett treats many patients with chronic pain and mobility issues. Dr. Jon uses his skills to keep his Standardbred race horse patients performing at their best. Please call the office for a consultation if you are interested in exploring acupuncture for an animal friend.
Digital Radiography:
If your animal companion requires x-rays, we offer digital radiography. This technology provides higher quality diagnostic images to evaluate your pet’s condition. We also use mobile units to radiograph large animals on the farm.
In-house Laboratory:
We utilize state of the art equipment to provide quick, accurate diagnostic results. Our in-house capabilities include complete blood count, blood chemistry profiles, thyroid (T4) testing, heartworm & tick panel tests,urinalysis, and feline viral testing. We use Idexx labs for referral laboratory testing and pathology.
Wellness Care:
We offer complete wellness care for all life stages. This includes appropriate vaccinations based on AAHA recommendations and lifestyle risk factors, screening tests for common diseases and parasites, and preventative medications. We provide each patient with a complete physical exam, which allows early detection of many health problems.We will also make nutritional recommendations based on your pet’s individual needs.
Emergency Service:
Emergency Services are provided daily, from 6am-9pm, to animals seen in the last 12 months. If you have an urgent problem with one of your animals, call (937) 372-9978. You will be connected to an answering service after office hours. The answering service will then take down your information and the doctor on call will promptly return your call and provide the care your animal needs. Please keep in mind that we do not monitor the texting number or email overnight.
Puppy Classes:

Monica Sexton, R.V.T., A.B.C.D.T., is offering puppy classes focused on basic obedience, socialization, and addressing problem behaviors in a 5-week course.
Monica uses science-based, positive reinforcement, and force-free techniques to teach essential skills and help your young puppy grow into a well-mannered canine companion.

Chiropractic Therapy
Dr. Brett Ellis and Dr. Deanna Clark are certified in chiropractic care. Chiropractic care can be utilized in prevention and treatment of injury and lameness. Having such an intimate knowledge of the spine can help us address our patients care when utilizing actual spinal adjustments or in diagnosing painful neurologic conditions.
Rehabilitation Therapy
Dr. Deanna Clark is certified in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy (which also includes cats!) Rehabilitation therapy is similar to Physical Therapy in humans. She can help develop an exercise program tailored specifically to the patient to help strengthen weak areas and heal pesky injuries. She can help with post-operative orthopedic conditions that don’t require an underwater treadmill for recovery. She has a special interest in canine sports conditioning.
